After Mouly, Boat Oil paintings, by k Madison Moore

Sold - Commission
©kMasdisonMooreMkM

My Collector saw these two Marcel Mouly boat paintings in an exhibit and fell in love with them.
He said they were very small but wanted me to see what I could do using my techniques in
a much larger format. They were great fun to paint. Below are Mouly's paintings
that I used for reference.
If you have an idea for a commission painting shoot me an email with your thoughts.
Thanks Jim.

Infinity, "Optical Illusion Painting", by k Madison Moore

Infinity

If you think this was easy try it! There are only three curved lines in this illusion painting. All of the other lines are straight. Painting this was a "Real Challenge"! But...it was fun but my eyes kept crossing! LOL!

Illusion Series

8 x 10 inches
Oil on Canvas

An optical illusion  is characterized by visually perceived images that differ from objective reality. The information gathered by the eye is processed in the brain to give a percent does not tally with a physical measurement of the stimulus source. There are three main types: literal optical illusions that create images that are different from the objects that make them, physiological ones that are the effects on the eyes and brain of excessive stimulation of a specific type (brightness, tilt, color, movement), and cognitive illusions where the eye and brain make unconscious inferences. They can also be known as "mind games".

This is the second Pangaea painting I have done.
It is a fascinating subject!
This is so fantastic in hand. It's hard to see all the built up impasto ( think Paint).
I used many shades of blues, reds, yellows and lots of brilliant gold metallics.
Enjoy!

Pangaea, Pangæa, or Pangea was the supercontinent that existed during the Paleozoic and Mesozoic eras about 250 million years ago, before the component continents were separated into their current configuration.
  • The name was coined in the scientific discussion of Alfred Wegenr's  theory of the Continental drift t. In his book "The Origin of Continents and Oceans" he postulated that all the continents had at one time formed a single super continent which he called the Urkontinent, before later breaking up and drifting to their present locations. The term Pangaea appeared in 1928 during a symposium to discuss Alfred Wegener's theory

The breaking up and formation of supercontinents appears to be cyclical through Earth's 4.6 billion year history. There may have been several others  before Pangaea.

This abstract oil  painting has layer and layers of thick paint (impasto), rich deep blues, reds
and shades of greens and is enhanced in beautiful pale metallic golds.

I think the title speaks for itself and I am sure everyone will have
a different meaning for it.
Enjoy!

Abstract Nude Oil Painting by k Madison Moore

I painted a similar painting to this in my Drama Works Series but I it was not abstract or textured
with metallics such as this one. I really like the emotion this one speaks.
How many times have we felt like this?
