Abstract Painting by k Madison Moore

Into The Sunset

SOLD

Medium: Oil Paint on Canvas Size: 14 x 18 inches Series: Abstractionism
There are so many layers of impasto and thick oil paints on this painting.
I felt like a little kid playing in finger paints. I did this abstract painting
with wide brushes, a palette knife and my fingers. Lots of fun!
Enhanced with brilliant copper and pale gold metallics.

I really had a lot of fun doing this painting since Susan decide to go large format.
It's so interesting to study the shapes and forms of the bottles and the caps.
Red is my favorite color so I have to say that this is one of my favorite

so far.

Abstract Oil Painting by k Madison Moore

Refractions II

11 x 14 Oil Painting

SOLD

Abstract Oil Painting

14" x 18"

Abstractionism Series

This is the second Refractions abstract I have done. The first was really popular and got huge hits. I did a few similar paintings to the first one as commission paintings so I decided
to paint another. This abstract has a lot of impasto which has created a really nice texture
along with some brilliant metallic gold.
This is a nice large painting for a great price so contact me if your interested.

The Passing of Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson
August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009

We will miss you Michael.
This is such a loss.

The Los Angeles coroner, Fred Corral, said that Jackson was pronounced dead after arriving at UCLA Medical Centre in full cardiac arrest. A post mortem examination is likely to take place today.
Paramedics who responded to an emergency call to the singer's home in Los Angeles said that he had stopped breathing by the time they arrived.

Sources at the UCLA Medical Centre said that the self-styled "King of Pop" did not come out of a coma and died.
Jackson's mother Katherine and sister La Toya had rushed to the singer's bedside at the hospital, while hundreds of tearful fans gathered outside.
Earlier, the singer's father Joe said that he had been told his son was "in a bad way".
Jackson is widely credited with revolutionising pop music with albums including Thriller, Bad and Dangerous but his career was tainted with allegations of child abuse.
He was due to perform a highly anticipated 50-date "farewell" residency at the O2 Arena in Greenwich, south-east London, starting next month. Fears for his health emerged after he postponed the earliest dates, and his aides were forced to deny that he was fighting skin cancer.

Abstract Nude Oil Painting by k Madison Moore

Under The Falls

Abstract Nude Oil Painting

24 x 24 inches

Abstractionism Series

This one was wonderful to paint. I really got into it.
I think this may be one of my very favorite abstract paintings.
So many layers of thick impasto and paint. The nice thing about
abstracts is that you get to mix the paint right on the canvas while painting.
Beautiful enhancements of brilliant metallic copper and gold.

Floral Nude Oil Painting by k Madison Moore

"Evolution"

Floral Nude Oil Painting

8 x 10 inches

"Evolution"

The process by which different kinds of living organisms are thought to have developed and diversified from earlier forms during the history of the earth.
The idea of organic evolution was proposed by some ancient Greek thinkers but was long rejected in Europe as contrary to the literal interpretation of the Bible. Lamarck proposed a theory that organisms became transformed by their efforts to respond to the demands of their environment, but he was unable to explain a mechanism for this.

Flowers Oil Painting by k Madison Moore

"Flora"

6" x 8"

Original Flower Oil Painting

Flower Series

Flowers are something that I never concentrated on painting.
This is the second of my macro flower oil paintings.
I find paintings these amazing.
Many years ago I had a friend that was a landscape designer.
We went to so many flower shows. Of course I took hundreds of photos
over the years. So not I thought that I might put some of them to good use and
do a little series of beautiful macro flower oil paintings.
Enjoy!

Window into Picasso's Soul - Art Musuem Painting by k Madison Moore

Window into Picasso's Soul

Art Museum Paintings Series

Paintings continues around sides. No frame necessary ( click )

The following Picasso Paintings were my inspiration for this Art Museum piece.
I always admired Picasso and his unusual way of seeing things and his interpretation's in his cubist paintings. I learned so much about the artist while doing these paintings, not to mention how intense it was to paint them so small. The smallest is 2.5 x 3 inches and the largest is 3 x 4 inches, all with very tiny details. I could not get close enough to pick up all the details and my scanner was unavailable so keep in mind how small the details are.

Biography

Picasso was baptized Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno María de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Clito, a series of names honouring various saints and relatives. Added to these were Ruíz and Picasso, for his father and mother, respectively, as per Spanish custom. Born in the city of Málaga in the Andalusian region of Spain, he was the first child of Don José Ruiz y Blasco (1838–1913) and María Picasso y López. Picasso’s family was middle-class; his father was also a painter who specialized in naturalistic depictions of birds and other game. For most of his life Ruiz was a professor of art at the School of Crafts and a curator of a local museum. Ruiz’s ancestors were minor aristocrats.

The house where Picasso was born, in Málaga
The young Picasso showed a passion and a skill for drawing from an early age; according to his mother, his first words were “piz, piz”, a shortening of lápiz, the Spanish word for ‘pencil’.From the age of seven, Picasso received formal artistic training from his father in figure drawing and oil painting. Ruiz was a traditional, academic artist and instructor who believed that proper training required disciplined copying of the masters, and drawing the human body from plaster casts and live models. His son became preoccupied with art to the detriment of his classwork.
The family moved to La Coruña in 1891 so his father could become a professor at the School of Fine Arts. They stayed almost four years. On one occasion the father found his son painting over his unfinished sketch of a pigeon. Observing the precision of his son’s technique, Ruiz felt that the thirteen-year-old Picasso had surpassed him, and vowed to give up painting.

In 1895, Picasso's seven-year old sister, Conchita, died of diphtheria - a traumatic event in his life. After her death, the family moved to Barcelona, with Ruiz transferring to its School of Fine Arts. Picasso thrived in the city, regarding it in times of sadness or nostalgia as his true home. Ruiz persuaded the officials at the academy to allow his son to take an entrance exam for the advanced class. This process often took students a month, but Picasso completed it in a week, and the impressed jury admitted Picasso, who was still 13. The student lacked discipline but made friendships that would affect him in later life. His father rented him a small room close to home so Picasso could work alone, yet Ruiz checked up on him numerous times a day, judging his son’s drawings. The two argued frequently.

Picasso’s father and uncle decided to send the young artist to Madrid’s Royal Academy of San Fernando, the foremost art school in the country. In 1897, Picasso, age 16, set off for the first time on his own. Yet his difficulties accepting formal instruction led him to stop attending class soon after enrollment. Madrid, however, held many other attractions: the Prado housed paintings by the venerable Diego Velázquez, Francisco Goya, and Francisco Zurbarán. Picasso especially admired the works of El Greco; their elements, like elongated limbs, arresting colors, and mystical visages, are echoed in Picasso’s Å“uvre.

Abstract Nude Oil Painting by k Madison Moore

"Turmoil"

Abstract Nude Oil Painting

18" x 24"

Abstractionism Series

I only intended to do one painting with this technique but they seem to
be popular
abstract nude painting and I've
received many commissions from the paintings that I have done with this thick
impasto and metallics mixed with the oil paint so I guess I will keep going with them.

These are a lot of fun for me. After doing a lot of detail paintings the abstracts are
very relaxing, good for the soul. Enjoy.

Life is like a canvas....we should throw as much paint at it as we can. k. Madison Moore

Art Museum Exhibit Oil Painting by k Madison Moore

Gallery "Z"

Abstractionism Exhibit k. Madison Moore

12" x 9"
Oil Painting
SOLD

Art Museum Collection Series

I'm getting a kick out of doing my Museum paintings with the viewers viewing the oil paintings from the out side of the museum other than viewing the exhibit from within. This is the second painting I have done like this. The first one sold, Thank you Diane, so I wanted try try a few more. Getting the lighting just right on the stone wall was a bit of a challenge but I finally got it with a few layers of glazing. It was fun doing an evening scene looking into a well lit gallery.
By the way the exhibit is of three of my original abstract paintings that were sold to collectors. Nothing like painting your own exhibits! Does this mean I am represented now by Gallery "Z"? Hugh, it should be that easy!! Enjoy.

Daily Painting Abstract Oil Painting by k Madison Moore

"Metallica"

6" x 8"

Abstract Oil Painting

Abstractionism Series

I really enjoy doing these small abstract oil paintings. So many of my collectors have larger abstracts and are running out of room so they are appreciating these small affordable paintings.
This abstract was done with a knife and heavy impasto to created some nice texture. The silver and copper metallics against the cobalt blue makes for a nice contrast in this painting.
Contact me for a very reasonable price for this nice little abstract painting to add to your collection. Similar larger paintings available.

Abstract Oil Painting

I started to paint this abstract as black, white and gold. After it was completed I had a sudden urge to add the prussian blue to give it more of the feeling of the waterfall.
This was a fun painting to do.
